UQG Optics is proud to announce a three-year sponsorship of the Cambridgeshire U16 Girls County Age Group cricket team.
As a company that has been part of the local community for more than 70 years, supporting young people and creating opportunities within Cambridgeshire remains an important part of who we are. Through this sponsorship, UQG Optics is helping to support the continued development of the county’s emerging cricket talent and the growth of the girls’ game across the region.
The sponsorship was recently marked with a shirt handover at Fenner’s Cricket Ground, where members of the U16 Girls squad met with UQG Optics Managing Director Kelvin Biggs.
Speaking about the partnership, Kelvin said:
“As a local company for over 70 years, it’s important to invest in the local community and to support youth sports promoting a positive healthy lifestyle.”

Cricket provides young people with the opportunity to develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and leadership skills, both on and off the field. The Cambridgeshire County Age Group Pathway plays an important role in supporting players as they develop their abilities and pursue opportunities within the game.
At UQG Optics, we recognise the value of investing in future generations, whether that’s through supporting science, engineering and technology or helping young people achieve their potential through sport.
We are delighted to be supporting the Cambridgeshire U16 Girls team and look forward to following their progress over the coming seasons.
We would like to wish the players, coaches and wider Cambridgeshire Cricket community every success, and we’re excited to play a small part in supporting the future of the game locally.
