Quartz Crystal Windows, Plates & Wafers

UQG Optics Z Cut Quartz (SiO2) birefringent material is transparent in the visible range and does not alter the light polarization. Z cut Quartz is one of the best materials for wavelengths above 50µm for terahertz blackbody emission. The windows have high transmission, which make it perfect for use in the visible and IR spectrum ideal for windows, polarizers and wave plates. There are two grades of Z Cut Quartz, optical or SAW electronic grade and in addition to z cut quartz crystal there can also be X and Y cut. In two rotations right and left handed cut perpendicular to the surface to allow a direct single path through the crystal to continue the polarization of the beam.
