IR Windows

IR Windows are optical windows designed to perform at a required optimum level in the infrared (IR) spectrum.

IR Windows are widely used in FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared) spectroscopy, where absorption of the infrared spectrum range is required. In addition, IR windows are used in FLIR (forward-looking infrared) thermal imaging applications, for example in military or civilian aircraft where thermographic cameras may be used to detect infrared radiation, as well as in medical systems and instrumentation.

UQG Optics supplies a variety of IR windows made from a wide range of substrate materials with properties to suit different mechanical or optical requirements, and either with or without AR coatings.

IR Windows substrate materials options from UQG Optics include Calcium Fluoride (CaF2), Barium Fluoride (BaF2), Germanium (Ge), Magnesium Fluoride (MgF2), Borosilicate, Sapphire, Silicon (Si), Fused Quartz, Zinc Sulphide (ZnS) and Zinc Selenide (ZnSe).
