Schott RG715

Schott RG715 is a specialized optical glass with a remarkable ability to block visible light while efficiently transmitting near-infrared radiation.

It exhibits high opacity in the visible spectrum, making it ideal for applications that require effective suppression of unwanted visible light, while enabling the passage of near-infrared wavelengths, typically ranging from 0.7 to 1.4 micrometres. This glass is widely used in scientific research, spectroscopy, and other technical applications where precise control of light wavelengths is critical. RG715’s unique properties allow for accurate measurements and sensitive analysis, particularly in scenarios where filtering out ambient light is essential to obtain accurate data. Furthermore, its excellent thermal and mechanical characteristics ensure reliability and durability in various operating environments. As a result, Schott RG715 finds applications in areas such as astronomy, environmental monitoring, material analysis, and industrial processes that require efficient near-infrared transmission and effective visible light blocking.
